Social Studies Grading System
*Each of the 2 types of grades are considered major assignments.
Daniels' Grading Scale
A = 90% - 100% - Above Average (Keep up the outstanding work) B = 80% - 89% - Somewhat above Average (Keep up the good work) C = 70% - 79% - Average (You are doing what is expected of you) D = 60% - 69%- Below Average (Watch out this is a sign of a problem) F = 59% and lower -Significantly Below Average (There is a HUGE problem) *You need to earn a D (60%) or above to pass the class. |

*Note: Each student's grade will be an average of the total amount of weekly grades and performance tasks given each quarter. For example, if a student has earned (9) weekly grades of 90, (1) unit test of 85, and (2) project grades of 158 (70 + 88)... the final grade for the quarter can be calculated like this... 810 points (weekly grades) 9 x 90 + 85 points (unit test) + 70 points + 88 points (2 project grades) ____________________________ 1,053 (total points) ÷ 12 (total number of assignments) ____________________________ 87.75% average for the quarter |
